WHAT IS KANJI?

KANJI is an ancient Indian probiotic drink usually made using black carrots which can also be made using the red or orange carrots with an addition of beetroot for the deep red color.

This is one of the traditionally fermented drink, which originated in Indian Subcontinent. It is a spicy and delicious drink popular during holi.

HOW TO MAKE BLACK CARROT KANJI?

  • Boil water and cool it.

  • Add baton of carrots.

  • Add black salt, powdered mustard seeds, hing and red chilli powder.

  • Keep near a window for 4-5 days

  • Your kanji is ready.
